MAHILA SURAKSHA AND VIKAS MANCH

Over 127 units of grass roots women’s groups taking care of their safety and development. The Programme is supported by the services of Family Counselling Centre and Adolescent Education programme and care and support to aged female, self-help groups, vocational training and production units. About 10000 women are associated with our Mahila Suraksha and Vikas Manch programme and over 7500 cases of family disputes have been settled by its efforts.

NIRAMAYA COMMUNITY HEALTH PROGRAMME

Besides one permanent dispensary, the programme takes care of people’s health at their door step through medical camps and health education programmes. This programme is supported by Reproductive & Child Health, de-addiction counselling and holistic health programme etc. Our awareness packages for the prevention of HIV/AIDS and female feticide, Tuberculosis etc have been acknowledged by the Government.

SOCIAL DEFENCE AND SECURITY DIVISION

Welfare of aged through day care and nutritional support, medical help, legal aid, counseling and casework, police protection and social intervention as and when required by them. Recreational activities, indoor games, daily religious discourse (satsang) library and reading room and occasional excursion are other activities for the aged. The interests of aged females are especially taken care of at the centre. The programme is extended to rural areas also. Besides, it also takes awareness camping in areas dominated by Scheduled Castes and the other vulnerable sections of people and also takes pro-active measures in case of their exploitation violence or torture in any form.

KOSHISH: INSTITUTE OF DISABILITY MANAGEMENT REHABILITATION RESEARCH

This unit provides specialized care to the persons with disabilities e.g. Mentally Retarded, Autistic, Spastic, Hearing and Speech Impaired and the Children with cerebral palsy etc. through indoor centre based care and CBR programme. Among the important services, there are provisions for special education, vocational training, rehabilitation counseling, parents training, early detection and care, physiotherapy, occupational therapy & Yoga.

ISSUE BASED ACTION PROGRAMME

The issue based actions range from human rights, right to information, consumer education, public hearings on important issues, Environmental Protection and Natural Resource Management, issues related to women & children etc. The Programme run through lobbying, networking, advocacy and other proactive pressure group techniques.

DEVELOPMENT RESOURCE CENTRE

It takes up training, research, documentation and consultancy services for a range of clients in development sector. The Centre has a well-equipped library, research lab and training facilities-including a range of electronic and multi-media gadgets with video- conferencing facilities.

TARANG- CULTURE AND ART WING

It deals with providing technical support to all other programmes through appropriate art and culture inputs. It develops audio-visual material for sensitization of people on specific issues and also performs live through Street Plays (Nukkad Nataks), skits, theatrical presentations to educate and mobilize the masses on the issues of social and national importance.
